Bovine gelatin by Ergomax
Ergomax's high-quality bovine gelatin hails for 100% from grass-fed European cattle. Bovine gelatin is a high-quality protein product rich in both essential and non-essential amino acids. Gelatin is an animal product obtained from bovine skin. The pure proteins from bovine gelatin support the body's own collagen network. Collagen is found in all kinds of connective tissue, such as found in skin, joints and cartilage.
Benefits
• 100% from Swedish grass-fed cattle
• Sustainable production process
• Contains high concentrations of glycine and proline
• Does not contain gluten, soy or artificial additives
Collagen hydrolysate & gelatin: The difference
Gelatin is a form of hydrolysed collagen and as such, part of collagen.
Hydrolyzed collagen means that the protein breaks down into shorter amino acid compounds, making them easier and faster to absorb. It has gone through an additional processing step. The product mixes easily with cold and warm liquids such as smoothies and juices.
Gelatin consists of longer amino acid chains and these form a jelly. The amino acid composition of gelatin is similar to that of collagen hydrolysate. Gelatin can be used to make gummy pudding and desserts and must be mixed in warm liquids. In the body it plays a role in digestion and overall intestinal functioning.
Pure proteins
Gelatin powder consists of 98% -99% pure protein. All proteins are made up of amino acids. Gelatin differs from other protein sources in that it contains large concentrations of semi-essential amino acids. These amino acids can be produced by the body under the right conditions or can be obtained from the right nutrition sources. In distinct situations and from a certain age upward, increased collagen hydrolysate intake may be advisable.
Gelatin is packed with essential amino acids
Ergomax gelatin powder contains 19 amino acids, including all 8 essential amino acids. The body cannot itself produce essential amino acids, so it depends on external supply. In addition, bovine gelatin contains high concentrations of the important amino acids proline, glycine and hydroxyproline: all building blocks for collagen.
Natural and sustainable production process
The grass-fed cattle used for the gelatin hail from Sweden and are kept in animal-friendly ways. The production process meets strict European guidelines and is sustainable and pure all the way through.
Part of the 'Ancestral Diet'
Our ancestors, the hunter-gatherers, ate much more gelatin than we do today. They ate nose-to-tail on a large scale: they consumed the entire animal, including the skin, tendons and other gelatinous structures. Nowadays we hardly consume any gelatin-rich parts. Yet these are the richest in nutritional value.
